Why Harry Jowsey Really Doesn’t Like Some Of His ‘Amazing Race’ Co-Stars

The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition is coming to our screens very, very soon (October 4, to be exact), and it sounds like we’re in for a doozy.

The cast is a real who’s who in Australia, including Australian Survivor’s King George, Aussie legend Grant Denyer and Olympic athlete Jana Pittman, but apparently, there was a bit of catfighting on the show. If you’re clueless about who’s competing and what the show is about, you can find all the info here.

When you’re wrangling big egos, throwing in a $100,000 prize for their chosen charities and a lack of sleep – there’s bound to be fireworks. And honestly, I love nothing more than some juicy celeb beef.

To get all the goss, I chatted to Harry Jowsey about his time on the race. Of course, I asked all my burning questions – like did he really go without sex for the duration of the show (the answer is surprisingly, yes) – and accidentally unearthed some major celeb drama.

According to the Too Hot To Handle star, some of his co-stars were a “little bit snobby and bratty and catty”. Yikes.

“People were butting heads the whole time just because it’s such a high-intensity environment,” he explained, before adding that some competitors deliberately tried to sabotage each other.

“Everyone was kind of always at each other’s throats, but there [were] some really good alliances and some really good friendships that kind of came out of it.”

He’s reluctant to give too much away but dropped some pretty revealing tea. “A lot of people don’t like each other, and there’s a reason I only follow a handful of them from the show,” he declared.

To rub salt in the wound, he didn’t know why a bunch of them were famous, which is low-key hilarious.

“I’m not going to be a sausage but I didn’t know any of them!” he tells me. “When I saw [Survivor’s] George [Mladenov] I thought his sister was one of The Veronicas so I was excited to meet her… then he started talking, and I’m like, ‘Why are you acting so sassy?’.”

Who are the “snobby, catty and bratty” Amazing Race Australia celebs?

I decided to investigate Harry’s claims that he didn’t get along with everybody on The Amazing Race Australia, and by investigate, I mean stalk his social media.

From TAR, he’s currently following Bec Judd, Grant Denyer, Alli Simpson and Ben Gillies. He’s not following George Mladenov, Dane Simpson, Darren McMullen, Emma Watkins, Jana Pittman or Peter Rowsthorn.

I’m going to cross Emma off the list, because I feel like she’s an absolute angel and couldn’t harm a fly, but George is my biggest suspect. Plus, Harry used the word “sassy” to describe him a few times in our chat, which is interesting

George is sneaky, intelligent and extremely strategic – and pulled off some epic blindsides on Australian Survivor. I don’t doubt for a second that he’d happily throw another contestant under the bus to get further in the game.

Plus, in Australian Survivor, he avoided creating alliances with strong alpha males, which is kinda what Harry and his mate Teddy bring to the table. On the other hand, he’s usually fiercely loyal, so any true alliances he creates will likely be ones to watch.

Can you tell I’m dying to watch the show?

You can catch The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition on Wednesday, October 4 at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
