Claire From ‘MAFS’ Visited ‘The Block’ And Shared Some Serious Spoilers

The Block auctions are right around the corner and everybody seems to have a different opinion on who should take home the grand prize of $100,000. Insiders previously tipped House 3 to win, but there might be another house to watch out for.

Former MAFS contestant Claire Nomarhas is a big fan of the renovation show and has a connection to a past contestant. She’s currently dating Patrick Calleja – brother of Tom Calleja, who competed on The Block 2022

Claire was given a sneaky tour of The Block 2023 houses over the weekend and she thinks that Kyle and Leslie’s house could be the one to take home the prize. “House 1 was my favourite by far!” she tells Punkee. “It’s a shame they got absolutely roasted every week by the judges.”

She visited the house along with Patrick, her mum, sister and step-dad, and proudly showed off her super-fan status by popping two cardboard houses on her head and getting her face painted. “We all love watching The Block, it was such a great day. I loved seeing the hard work of the contestants in person.”

Claire Nomarhas from MAFS reveals major The Block spoilers.

The Block isn’t aired live, with the contestants finishing their houses earlier than what viewers see on TV. There’s a pretty simple reason for this – by the time they’re finished on TV, they go straight to auction. The contestants need downtime after renovating to court buyers and to fix anything that was left unfinished. Plus, editors need time to craft an engaging and drama-filled show, or we’d literally be watching paint dry.

While Landscaping Week hasn’t been shown on TV yet, Claire accidentally revealed some major spoilers. Steph and Gian’s backyard looked incredible, with giant sliding doors connecting the lounge to a generous deck covered by a high ceiling. “Wow, this is just beautiful,” Claire said as she walked through. “Oh gosh, I love it. Look at the beautiful gum [tree].”

The couple have also chosen to pop in a modern pool with decking on the side, with a decent amount of grass framed by plants and what looks like a firepit in the middle.

Claire Nomarhas from MAFS teases “amazing” Landscaping Week on The Block

After touring each house on Charming Street, Claire tells me that seeing the houses in person was so much better than what viewers get to see on TV.

“TV doesn’t do the houses any justice. And just wait for landscaping week! You will be blown away by the amazing backyards,” she says.

And as for the drama that’s seemingly gone down with the contestants? Well, apparently there wasn’t a trace of that, as everybody seemed to be on their best behaviour. “All the contestants were so nice to chat with,” Claire reveals, and adds that it was fun to catch up with host Scott Cam and foremen Keith Schleiger and Dan Reilly.

It sounds like House 1 might actually be the couple to watch out for now, but as we’ve seen in the past, anything can go down at a tense The Block auction. I’m still holding out hope that each duo will walk away with a decent profit.
