Yes, Taylor Swift’s Boyfriend Was Once On A Bachelor-Style Dating TV Show
As I pop my spy goggles on and snoop more and more into the life story of Travis Kelce, the dude rumoured to be Taylor Swift’s new boyfriend, I fall more deeply in love with him.
So far I’ve found out that he’s an American Footballer who plays for Kansas City Chiefs, that he’s a massive fan of his lovely mum, and that he made a bracelet for Taylor Swift with his phone number beaded onto it in an attempt to ‘woo’ her… Oh, and that he had his very own reality TV show where he casually dated 50 women at once.
AKA he’s a muscly mummy’s boy who’s been on the hunt for love and he ain’t stopping til he finds it. An adorable recipe for a bloke that will occupy a dangerous amount of my brain space.

Travis’ reality TV show aired in 2016 and was a short-lived one-season wonder on E! called Catching Kelce. Rumours are that this is some sort of sporting pun, but I am honestly not qualified enough to confirm that.
So, how did the show work? It was basically a spin-off of The Bachelor, but with *sports* – a lot of the dates centred around… working out at the gym. The show ran much like most dating series, where there’s mass culling early on and then a steady flow of weekly eliminations after that.
The show was known for how Travis rejected his girlies. He would politely ask them to return from whence they came, with: “I’m going to have to ask you to go back to *enter home state here*”. People loved this quip, for some reason.
Why am I now imagining Taylor wrapping up her Eras tour shows by saying that exact line?
On Catching Kelce, Travis did end up picking a ‘winner’ from his TV show after whittling down the 50 women to one: Maya Benberry.
The two had chemistry throughout the show and ended up dating for around eight months after the finale, but then ended things and shortly after Maya accused Travis of cheating on her with the girl he ended up dating afterwards – a sports reporter named Kayla Nicole.
In now-deleted tweets, Maya wrote this: ‘When you and your ex broke up five months ago but you find out via social media that he’s supposedly been in another relationship for six…”
And you can bet that Maya has also had some words of advice for Taylor Swift since news bubbled up that she and Travis were an item.
“Once a cheater always a cheater,” she tweeted. “Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit so I wish her the best of luck but I wouldn’t be a girls’ girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart! I’m sure by now she has mastered the ability to see who is really there for her – and who is just using her.”
