Alyssa From ‘MAFS’ Finally Opens Up About Duncan And Evelyn’s Relationship

Alyssa Barmonde from Married at First Sight copped some pretty nasty backlash from viewers this year, but the heat seems to be dying down a bit. 

ICYMI, Alyssa was paired with Duncan James on the show, who quickly became a fan favourite due to his emotional intelligence and chiselled jaw. The single mother didn’t fare so well, with her cringe catchphrases like “I need attention” and “I have a child” rubbing some of the viewers the wrong way.

At Final Vows, Alyssa was “blindsided” by Duncan’s decision to call it quits, and in a twist that we all saw coming, her ex has now debuted his new relo with Evelyn Ellis. 

The chemistry between Evelyn and Duncan was obvious when the insanely hot couple were paired together in the couple swap episode. And now, Alyssa has shared a spicy detail about the swap during an appearance on the Lara On Eyre podcast. 

Apparently, Duncan wanted to “share the bed” with Evelyn and was upset that Alyssa wanted him to sleep on the “uncomfortable” couch. Yikes, I can see why she wasn’t peachy when she returned back to their Skye Suites apartment after living with Cam Woods. 

“This is jaw-dropping, I haven’t told this to anyone except my close friends,” she told the host. “Duncan had said, ‘Oh, [me and Evelyn] will just share a bed’, and I was like, ‘Excuse me, what?’”

Alyssa claimed that the pair had a “heated conversation” about how Duncan wanted to sleep in the same bed as Evelyn, but viewers didn’t get to see what went down.

“I’m like, ‘Duncan, you are not going to share a bed with super hot Evelyn, who is cookie-cutter your type. That’s not okay for me’,” she recalled. “And he [replied], ‘Well, I’m not gonna make her sleep on the couch. We’re just mates, why can’t we share a bed together?’.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Alyssa also said she wasn’t surprised that Duncan and Evelyn eventually got together. And while it must suck seeing your ex move on so quickly, she admitted the new couple makes sense. 

“I hope it’s real, everyone deserves love, and I do think they are really well suited to each other. They have the same lifestyle, and I do wish the best for them,” she said.

“I cannot say I was surprised, absolutely not… I am a bit hurt that I didn’t hear from either of them about the relationship coming out, but it is what it is.”
