“She Said Some Pretty Nasty Things”: Elena From ‘The Bachelor’ On What Really Went On Behind The Scenes
The Bachelor is currently on its third week and already we’ve had an Instagram scandal, drama surrounding the c-bomb, and some early frontrunners.
One person we didn’t get to see a whole lot of was Elena Wee, a personal trainer from Sydney. It could be said Elena got the raw end of the deal – not only did she already know Jimmy prior to filming the show, she also got dumped by him while she was wearing a mouse outfit.
From the chaos of living with so many women, to how she really knew Jimmy before the show, and the real tea behind the Holly and Steph drama, Elena spilled some piping hot tea to us about Bachy life.

On knowing Jimmy IRL:
“So for background, I actually knew him [Jimmy] before the show. I was so surprised – I could recognise him from the limo but I was like ‘is it?’ Then when I got out I was like, ‘oh my God, I know him’ so that part was cut out for sure,” she explained to Punkee.
“He had actually hit me up on the first group date to say he was surprised to see me on the red carpet, because he thought I was dating his trainer! Because he [Jimmy] trains at the gym I run my personal training business out of.”
“It was a good thing we had some sort of connection already, but then I also think it might’ve friend-zoned me. I guess reflecting back, it was mostly friend vibes from the both of us, we get along well, but there wasn’t really chemistry there.”
On what we’re not seeing on the show when it comes to the Holly and Steph drama:
“It’s not been shown exactly what was going on in the mansion. I guess those things were definitely said about Holly… with my personal experience with Holly and Stephanie, I wasn’t close to either of them. But when it comes to Holly and Steph, they’re both lovely girls, they didn’t have any issues with me, and I didn’t have any issues with them because I knew they liked me.”
“But I do know the majority of the girls in the mansion did not like Holly, she definitely ruffled a lot of feathers in the house. She said some pretty nasty things to a lot of the girls, so I guess that’s what I witnessed anyway but nothing against me personally.”
“When it comes to Steph, I know it doesn’t make it right, but she just says that word all the time. And if someone is saying something like that, I think there is a reason around, you know?”
On Holly’s illness during last night’s group date and rumours she was “faking it”:
“I was there – even though it looked like she was drowning on the actual episode, she looked like when she went out that she was killing it. We were all having lunch together but she looked sick, I don’t think she was faking it. I think it was genuine.”
On watching the show back and if anything has surprised her:
“Nothing’s really shocked me, I knew about most of the things that went on. If anything I think it was a bit of a shame that they didn’t show a lot of what went on with the group dates. They zoomed in on a lot of the drama but haven’t shown a lot of the positive and good experiences and I think they did show that in previous seasons.”
On living with so many other women at once:
“Oh, it was so… it was crazy. I have lived on my own for quite some time, so it was a bit of a shock. So many different personalities, it was intense. There were great times as well, but it was really intense living with so many other girls. Coming from me, I thought I had a big personality until I went in there!”
On being shocked to be booted out so early:
“I was completely shocked not to receive a rose last night. He left me a message and I did get to read that. He basically thanked me for my time and just saying it was more a friendship if anything, it was a really nice message.”
And on the general hilarity that she still now constantly runs into the man who dumped her in a mouse outfit:
“Yeah, I have ran into him! He still trains at my gym, not that it’s open now. I’ve seen him quite a few times, it’s never been anything more than a smile and a wave.”

On who she hopes Jimmy chooses in The Bachelor finale:
“I’ve got my money on Jay for sure, she’s such a legend. She’s such a chill, genuine chick, I hope she wins.”
