Abbie Chatfield Has Slammed Megan Marx After She Shared Her Problematic Views On ADHD
Abbie Chatfield has completely slammed Megan Marx after she shared some cooked views on ADHD during an Instagram Q&A.
Megan, who is currently appearing on The Challenge, went on Instagram for a spicy Q&A sesh where she asked her following to shoot over their unpopular opinions. However, one submission asked her, “Dya reckon ADHD is an influencer fad,” and let’s just say she went in on influencers and ADHD medication.
Abbie Chatfield, who was officially diagnosed with ADHD earlier this year, has come in full throttle via her Instagram story, flaming Megan for her “problematic” opinions, and calling her statements “ableist.“
Since then, the pair have gone back and forth with each other, and the whole thing is super messy.
Here is all the fall-out from Megan’s Q&A sesh and Abbie’s responses:
Megan shares her opinion on ADHD
Boy, oh boy. When posed with the question, “Dya reckon ADHD is an influencer fad,” Megan let out all her thoughts on ADHD and the side effects of its medication.
Despite Megan saying, “I’m not a scientist,” she went on to agree with the idea that ADHD is a trend and that influencers could be benefitting from the weight loss of the ADHD medication, saying, “I also wonder about all these influencers who are being diagnosed and medicated for ADHD who have suddenly a lost of weight. I think that is interesting.”
Alongside the explainer, Megan wrote a lengthy caption that listed “things to think about” with ADHD.
Abbie responds to Megan’s opinions
Notorious Aussie celeb goss page, influencer.updates.au, posted screenshots of Megan’s story.
Abbie came across these screenshots and commented on the post.
Another Instagram user also commented on the post stating that they believe that Megan’s comments were about Abbie, writing, “It’s clear that the ADHD story is targeting Abbie Chatfield”.
Abbie then came onto her Instagram Story to blast Megan’s views.
The podcast host called out every single point in Megan’s written caption and called her whole Insta story an “unfounded, invalid, and ableist opinion.”
Abbie also spoke up about the stigmatisation of ADHD diagnosis, saying, “Women are so under-diagnosed, particularly, so thank you so much for adding stigma to the diagnosis and thank you so much for making people believe they shouldn’t speak about their diagnosis because you think it’s a fad.”

She then slammed Megan again, saying, “You aren’t a medical professional, saying that you think that medication is problematic and addictive. It’s a highly restricted drug… It’s so ableist. It’s so offensive”.
Abbie also got extremely candid about how ADHD impacts all aspects of her life, the waiting line for ADHD diagnosis and medication, and the cost of it all.
Megan finishes off her thoughts on ADHD
Megan continued her Q&A sesh, saying she didn’t know her story had “cut out”.
The ex-Bachy contestant then doubled down on her thoughts about influencers, ADHD and weight loss, stating, “ADHD medication is basically meth, and you lose your appetite. And these influencers are like, ‘how f*cking dare you ask me about that.’ They’re very happy to talk about being on medication, happy to talk about ADHD, but they don’t want to talk about the fact they’ve lost weight because of their medication, and I think that’s problematic too.”
Megan also accused these influencers for “making people seek” treatment for ADHD because “they’re influencers.”
She closed off her whole statement saying, “I think it’s dodgy as f*ck.”
Abbie then reposted the whole chat on her story, captioning it “HOLY.F*CKING.SHIT.”
Abbie responds to Megan’s extended opinion
Abbie retorted, saying, “Are you f*cking serious? That is the most deeply disgusting. Who the f*ck do you think you are, saying that people are owed an explanation for anyone’s weight loss or weight gain?”
Abbie then went on to talk about weight loss and body image, speaking from personal experiences in being a woman/femme presenting person in media who has ‘their body commodified’.
“Maybe people aren’t noticing, or maybe they don’t want to notice, or maybe they aren’t body checking every f*cking day,” Abbie said. “Maybe they’re trying to recover from disordered eating habits and exercise habits, and they’re not trying to focus on how their f*cking body looks.”
She then revealed why people do not talk about weight loss with ADHD medication, saying that she did not want to encourage that belief that you can take this medication to lose weight.
“You don’t want people to know that’s a huge side effect, because you don’t want to encourage this, so well done… If anyone is saying it’s a trend to lose weight, it’s you [Megan] babe.”
Megan’s final response (so far)
This morning, Megan has responded to the backlash of her ADHD comments.
She posted a quick note on her story addressed to “everyone jumping on board the hate train.”
Megan then revealed that she has been diagnosed with ADHD and that she’s actually on the medication herself. She also wrote that “I am (quite obviously) not saying that people are taking meds TO LOSE WEIGHT. That’s ridiculous. I’m saying that there are side effects not being discussed.”

Abbie hits back at Megan
Abbie then called out Megan for her latest statement, saying that “it’s not a hate train,” and labelling Megan’s statements as “problematic.”
“That actually makes it so much worse for you to understand or to have gone through this process, and to have been diagnosed with ADHD, and then still try and harm others who have ADHD and who are diagnosed, and to prevent people from being diagnosed…That’s quite twisted,” Abbie said.
Abbie continued, saying that if Megan’s opinions on ADHD stem from her own experiences with the drugs, she could’ve talked about that instead of influencers and weight loss.
Abbie then ended her latest rebuttal, demanding that Megan apologises for her statements on ADHD.
Megan and Abbie were embroiled in controversy earlier this year when rumours swirled of Megan hooking up with Abbie’s ex, Konrad Bién-Stephen, during the recording of The Challenge. The rumoured hookup then fuelled rumours of a split between Abbie and Konrad, who hadn’t publicly acknowledged their breakup yet.
Eventually, the pair confirmed their breakup, and the hookup was then shown on The Challenge.
Megan has yet to reply to Abbie’s latest statement or apologise for her truly cooked stance on ADHD medication and influencers.
