In some strange news for your morning, Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins has uploaded a video on Instagram rescuing a goat and it’s surprisingly wholesome.

There’s no doubt 2021 is a strange timeline to be living in: we started the year with Bean Dad and Kimye’s divorce,  then suffered through some more reality TV seasons, some of which gave us some standout moments (like Booka Nile’s song ‘Brett’) and some snooze-worthy moments (like Jimmy Nicholson’s whole season of The Bachelor).

Also in 2021 Olivia Rodrigo burst into the scene (yes, ‘Drivers License’ is not even a year old), Australia has been constantly in and out of lockdown, the US president called Scott Morrison “that fella from down under”, and for a few nights a week we can escape all of this crazy news by watching celebrities dressed up in terrifying costumes perform a song on stage.

Oh, and just this morning an earthquake hit Melbourne.

Anyway, all of this is to point out that the news of a former Australian Bachelor rescuing a goat that’s been trapped in a fence isn’t actually the weirdest news story of the year, or even the week.

Yep, Australia’s most love-to-hate Bachelor Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins has uploaded a video on Instagram of him rescuing a goat trapped in a barbed wire fence and it’s really the wholesome content we need to remind ourselves the world isn’t always awful.

Watch Honey Badger rescue the goat below:

The video shows Honey Badger and his unidentified companion pulling over on the side of the road after seeing a goat with its horns trapped in the barbed wire. Honey Badger helps untangle the goat, before deliberating over how to get him to the other side of the fence and back to safety. Eventually, he then launches him over with his bare hands, before the goat runs off letting out a small ‘baaa’ of thanks.
